Gwendolyn Fay Eakins, age 85 of Braceville Twp., passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday August 31, 2012 at Trumbull Memeorial Hospital in Warren. She was born on July 8, 1927, in Willoughby, OH the daughter of the late John Stone & Kathryn (Reid) Stone. Gwendolyn married the love of her life, Robert T. Eakins Sr. on February 14, 1947 and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage together before he passed away on June 8, 2006. She had lived in Braceville most of her life working at Republic Steel in the Cafeteria and then working at Denman Tire as a builder. Gwendolyn enjoyed being a homemaker. She also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. Memories of Gwendolyn will be carried on by her loving family; her daughter & her husband Kathy & Lester Lampman of Leavittsburg; her sons Robert Eakins Jr. of Leavittsburg, Gary Eakins of Braceville, Richard & Renee Eakins of Warren; her sister & her husband Pat & Dick Paezewski of Dearborn Heights, MI; her brother Ronald Doolittle of Newton Falls; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents,her husband Robert , 1 daughter Barbara Eakins, & 3 sons Jeffrey, Dennis and John Eakins. Funeral Services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday September 4, 2012 at 11:30AM. Calling hours will be two hours prior to service time from 9:30AM to 11:30AM at the funeral home. Gwendolyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Robert at Braceville Cemetery.
