Obituary

Harold E. (John) King, 87, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully Friday February 5th, 2010, at his home. Born February 19th, 1922 at home to John Frederick and Nellie (Helsey) King. He lived all of his life in the house that his Grandfather and Grandmother built in the 1800's. After leaving high school, he served in the US Army for 3 years during WWII, fighting over-seas for our country. He purchased the house he was raised in shortly after meeting and marrying his wife of 58 years, Ethel Fisher. His love was farming and he continued to do small jobs at his farm on his tractors until the Fall of this year. He worked at the Ravenna Arsenal for a number of years driving truck. He then worked at Republic Steel, retiring in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ethel, and seven siblings; Jennie, Sam, Theil, Alice Lawrence, Kenneth, Wilber, and Beatrice Robinson. He is survived by one sibling, Ida June (Don) Rogus of Brookway, PA. Memories of Harold will be carried on by his daughter Theresa (Richard) Biggs, grandchildren Darren Biggs of Lordstown, Leslie (John) Wilton of Cleveland and Mandy Biggs of Warren; and 5 great-grandchildren, MiKayla Peterson, Michon Peterson, Devon Biggs, Christopher Biggs and Abbey Wilton. Family and friends may call at the James Funeral Home in Newton, Tuesday February 9th from 5 until 7 PM, after which there will be a short service officiated by Pastor Calvin Mason. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512. Many thanks go out to all the special care givers and Hospice personnel who cared so deeply for him in his last days.
