Helen Louise Byers, age 93, of Lordstown passed away peacefully into eternal life on Friday, August 12, 2016 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on November 23, 1922, in Plumville, PA, the daughter of the late Cye B. Dilts.& Edna (VanHorn) Dilts. Helen married the love of her life, Harry Earl Byers on December 19, 1942 and they enjoyed 69 years of blessed marriage together before he passed away on December 3, 2011. Helen was a member of Lordstown Christian Church since 1950. She was also a member of the Lordstown Quilters, Wagon Wheel Trailer Club, and was a former Deaconess. Helen enjoyed traveling, quilting, reading and doing ceramics. Memories of Helen will be carried on by her loving family; her daughter Lynda & David Fowler of Lordstown, her sons Dennis & Jeannie Byers of Lordstown, David & Kathy Byers of Newton Falls, her sister Marjory Dedon of Lordstown; her 5 grandchildren Michael, Stacey, Doug, Jacob, Kelsey; her 9 great-grandchildren Doug Jr., Seth, Lance, Evan, Melora, Ethan, Lukas, Jaxson, Saylor. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry and her 2 sisters. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00PM and on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00AM, where a funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00AM. Rev. Dr. Bernard Oaks will be officiating. Helen will be laid to rest next to her husband Harry in Lordstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations please be made to the Lordstown Christian Church 6370 Tod Avenue S.W. Warren, Ohio 44481 in memory of Helen & Harry Byers.
