Helen Marie McGarry, age 86 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday night Dec. 21, 2018 at her residence. She was born on December 24, 1931 in Clarksburg, WV the daughter of the late Byron B. Cowgill & Ruth M. (White) Cowgill.

Helen married the love of her life Harvey Glenn McGarry on July 2, 1949 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together before he passed away on May 8, 2000.

She had lived in Newton Falls for 30 years. Helen loved to play cards, play scrabble and going to Neil Diamond concerts.

She was a member of the Braceville United Methodist Church for over 20 years.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey, and 4 sisters: Betty Dennison, Dorothy Norris, Mary F. Policano, and R. Jean Heater.

She is survived by: her 2 sons: Brent A. McGarry of Lordstown, Robert & Denise McGarry of Newton Falls; her 2 daughters Erin R. McGarry of Newton Falls; Ruth Ann & Michael McFall of Lordstown; 1 Sister: Charlotte Gillispie of Clarksburg,WV, 1 brother Robert Cowgill of Elkins, WV and 5 grandchildren.

Private family services were held. Helen will be laid to rest beside her husband Harvey at Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls.
