Jack F. Hill age 81 of Kinsman passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday night June 3, 2025 at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon. He was born on June 2, 1944 in Warren, OH the son of the late Robert Ellwood Hill and Veronica Isabell (Valent) Hill. Jack had lived in Kinsman since 1983, formerly of Newton Falls. He joined the US Navy at the age of 17 and served from 1962-1965 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After returning home, he married Buelah J. Blevins in 1964 and she passed away in 1967 from a tragic car accident. He then married his second wife, Shirley A. Vickers on Jan 15, 1969 and they enjoyed 56 years of wonderful marriage together. Jack worked as a maintenance man at American Welding & Manufacturing in Warren for 28 years retiring when the plant closed in 1994. He also worked at Walmart in Cortland for 23 years as floor maintenance man, and the last 11 years he worked as an assembler. Jack was a member of the VFW Post #3285 in Indiana, PA, and the Slovak Club in Warren for many years. He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and ATVing. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Buelah J. Hill, 1 son: Jack F. Hill Jr, 1 brother: Robert Hill, and 1 step- daughter: Valerie Tyre.
He is survived by: his wife: Shirley A. Hill of Kinsman, OH, 1 daughter: Jackie & David Beltran of DeLand, FL, 1 son: Steven & Jessica Hill of Newbury, OH, 1 sister: Sue & James Roberts of Jacksonville, FL, 2 brothers: James (Jim) & Shirley Hill of Newton Falls, Thomas & Cheri Hill of Plain City, OH, 1 step-daughter: Barbara & Ted Conway of McDonald, OH, 6 grandchildren: Erica, Kyle, Rachael, Michael, Skyler, Gavin, and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Monday June 9, 2025 at 1:00pm with Father David Merzweiler officiating. Calling hours will be from 12:00- 1:00pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the funeral home.
