James Elmer Bailey, age 71, of Braceville, passed away peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 27, 1942 in Buckhannon,WV, the son of the late Virgil Jennings Bailey & Carrol A. (Rowan) Bailey.

James married the love of his life, Sherry Ann Jenkins on December 14, 1963 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.

James and Sherry had lived in Braceville since 1973 formerly of Warren. James was a welder at WSW Industries in Kent, for 28 years before retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Church of God in Leavittsburg and was a member of the Newton Falls Masonic Lodge.

James enjoyed golfing at Riverview Golf Club.

Memories of James will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Sherry A. Bailey of Braceville; his daughter Connie & Terry Miller of Buckhannon,WV; his son Nelson & Christine Bailey of Austintown, OH; his sisters Marie & Darrel Bonner, Alice Devericks, Mazie & Ronald England all of Buckhannon,WV, Thelma Dietrich of Tara Alta,WV, Rita & Dwight Barnett of Buckhannon, WV; his brothers Dennis Bailey of Roanoak,VA, Lynn & Jenny Bailey, Glenn & Kay Bailey, Gary Bailey, Dwayne & Vicky Bailey all of Buckhannon,WV; his grandchildren Heather & Marcus Miller, CJ Martini, Jennifer Dailey; and his great-granddaughter Sarah Dailey.

James is preceded in death by three sisters, and one brother.

Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5 to 8PM. James will then be taken to Buckhannon, West Virginia to Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home where calling hours will be held from 5 to 8PM on Sunday, April 13, 2014 and a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:00AM. James will be laid to rest in Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon,WV.
