Obituary

James Joseph Fantone, Jr., age 72, of Paris Twp. passed into eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital of natural causes. He was born on February 14, 1938 in Youngstown, OH the son of the late James Joseph Fantone Sr. & Mary Margaret (Cavanaugh) Fantone. James married the love of his life, Marlene A. Brobst, on May 1, 1982 and they enjoyed 28 years of blessed marriage together. He had lived in Paris Twp. for the passed 10 years formerly of Hubbard and Youngstown. James worked in sales at Dodson Furniture in Niles for 10 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the St. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Newton Falls. James enjoyed mowing, doing yard work, working around the house, and riding his tractor. He loved watching sports, especially the Indians and the Browns. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Memories of James will be carried on by his loving family; his wife, Marlene of Paris Twp.; his daughter Pamela Rocco of Columbus; his sons James Fantone & Chloe Foreht of New York City, NY, Daniel (Chip) & Maria Fantone of Boardman; his sisters Eleanor & David Hardy of Canfield, Mary Lou Gaida of Campbell; his brothers Ronald Fantone of Austintown,William & Francine Fantone of Youngstown; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. James is preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 and from 12:30 to 1:30PM on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. There will be a prayer service held at 1:30p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 also at the James Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00p.m. at St. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Mankowski as celebrant. James will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris Township.
