James M. Holt, age 90 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday Jan 6, 2025 at the Sprenger Healthcare Towne Center in Avon Lake, OH.  He was born on February 16, 1934 in Ashland, WI  the son of the late David H. Holt & Audrey M. (Simon) Holt. Jim married the love of his life, Waneta M. Lilley on May 22, 1987 and they enjoyed 37 years of marriage together. Jim has lived in the Newton Falls area since 1954 working as a truck driver for Jones Transport for 26 years before retiring in 1991.  He served his country faithfully in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1952- 1956.  Jim enjoyed farming, flying his single engine Cessna tail dragger, and traveling with his wife in their camper.

Jim is survived by: his wife Waneta M. Holt of Newton Falls; 3 sons: Timothy Holt of AZ, James & Patty Holt of Austintown, Scott Holt of Boardman, his step-daughter: Teresa Shambach of Lake Milton;  3 step-sons: Gary & Vickie Harrah of Newton Falls, Barry & Sherri Harrah of Newton Falls, Douglas & Theresa Harrah of Lordstown; 3 sisters: Grace Harris of Florida, Beth Grieser of WI,  Audrey Grosnik of WI; 1 brother: Dwight Holt of Wellington, OH, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister: Jean Welton, and a step son in law: David Shambach.

Funeral services will be at the James  Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Monday Jan 13, 2025 at 12:00pm with Pastor Pete Nash officiating. Calling hours will be from 11:00am - 12:00pm. James will be laid to rest with full military services at Meadow Brook Memorial Park in Warren, OH.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations please be made to: Affinity Care Hospice of Ohio 25 South Main Street Suite 6 Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262 in Jim's memory.
