James Eugene Murphy, age 76 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28. 2018 at 2:06 PM of natural causes. He was born on May 20, 1942 in Latrobe, PA the son of the late Eugene Murphy and Helen Sandacz. He married the love of his life Patricia Ann Konecny on April 4, 1964 and they have enjoyed 50 years of marriage together. James & and his wife Patricia have lived in Newton Falls since 1970 and formerly of Latrobe, PA. James served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Then he went to work at General Motors in Lordstown as a laborer for 35 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of the UAW #1112, and the Knights of Columbus in Newton Falls for many years. James loved riding his motorcycle, and loved his grandkids very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Mary Jane McBryar

James is survived by: 1 daughter: Tracey Tennant of Newton Falls, 1 son: James & Jeanine Murphy of Canfield, OH, 2 sisters: Judy Miller of Latrobe, PA, Joanne Gaul of Derry, PA; 4 grandchildren: Brittany Tennant of Deerfield, Kailyn Murphy of Warren, Tyler Murphy of Canfield, Meg Welsh of Canfield, and great grandson Dominic Romeo.

Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends for calling hours two hours prior to service time from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Cremation will follow the service. James will be laid to rest beside his wife Patricia at St. Joseph Cemetery in Newton Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to the Newton Falls V.F.W., 433 Arlington Blvd., Newton Falls, OH 44444 in Memory of James.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to several staff members at Washington Square Nursing Home. Nurse Dave, Nurse Marilyn, Nurse Cyndee and nursing aides, Missy and Mandi for their care and compassion of our father. Special thank you also goes to the staff at Crossroads Hospice.
