James D. Senters, age 86 of Berlin Center entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 22, 2016 at his residence. James was born on December 5, 1929 in St. Francisville, IL, the son of the late John Franklin & Martha Adeline(Mayfield) Senters. He has lived in Berlin Center since 1979, formerly of Lawrenceville, IL. James married the love of his life, the former Joan C. Powers on January 1, 1989. James & Joan were blessed recently with 27 wonderful years of marriage. James worked at General Motors as a Tool Repairman for over 18 years before retiring in January of 2000. He previously worked for Ingersoll Rand as a Industrial Salesman for 12 years. James was a Veteran of the US Army stationed in Alaska for 30 months during the Korean War. He was a member of the Meandor Masonic Lodge in North Jackson, Club B.P.O.E. #1208, American Legion Post 737 in Lake Milton, the UAW Local 1112, and was a lifetime member of the Elks Club. James loved golfing, fishing, playing poker, reading, traveling and was an avid sports enthusiast. Memories of James will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Joan Senters of Berlin Center; his daughters, Jennifer Coristin of Boardman, Nanette Senters Donithan of Fowler, Roxanna Chick, of Pollacka, FL, Paulette Chick of Lake Milton; his son, Gregory (Dee) Senters of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Deanna (Jerry) Wheeler of Madison, FL and six grandchildren Nina, Cole, Rachel, Charlie, Jaclyn, and Dustin; and 3 great-grandchildren. James was preceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Freddie Mac Senters. Per James's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Hall in Lake MIlton. James will be buried in his home state of Illinois.
