Jane Lee Hawley, 94, of Howland passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 18, 2015 at Shepherd of The Valley in Howland. Jane was born on February 13, 1921 in Greensburg, PA, the daughter of Clair L. Lee & Gladys R. (Baker) Lee. Jane has resided in Howland since 2003, formerly of Southington and Maple Heights, OH. Jane married Donald W. Hawley on December 15, 1945. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage before his passing on February 26, 2003. Jane graduated from Kent State University in 1945 with her Bachelors of Education Degree. She was a school teacher in Valley City, Newton Falls, and Maple Heights, retiring in 1976 after 33 years. Jane was a member of the First Christian Church in Newton Falls, Leading Star Chapter #79 O.E.S. in Newton Falls since 1946, the National Education Association, Ohio Education Association, Trumbull Retired Teachers Association and Kent State Alumni Association. Loving memories of Jane will be carried on by her daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Bradley of Wexford, PA, sons, Thomas (Judy) Hawley of Solon, William (Monica) Hawley of Howland, her grandchildren, Christie, Jeff, Rachel, Doug, Sharon and her great grandchildren, Andy, Zach, Luke, Seina, Hana, Magnus and Lilith. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home where family will receive friends an hour prior to the services from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Jane will be laid to rest next to her husband Donald at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Twp. The family requests that contributions may be made to The Animal Welfare League, 812 Youngstown Kingsville Rd.
