Jesse O. Adkins age 76 of Paris Twp passed away peacefully into eternal rest on May 17, 2024 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.  He was born on Feb. 10, 1948 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of the late Owen Adkins and Geneva Leona (Graff) Adkins. Jesse had lived in Paris Twp for most of his life, and graduated from Southeast High School in the Class of 1966.  After high school he joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1968- 1969, and received 2 Bronze Stars with Valor.  While in the Army, he was commonly referred to as "Superman"  because  there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his country.  He then worked as an Independent Truck Driver for over 55 years retiring in 2014. Jesse was a member of the First Congregational Church in Newton Falls, and the Newton Falls Amvets Post # 112.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting all types of different guns. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by: 1 daughter: Kristina Adkins of Newton Falls, 2 sons: Timothy Adkins of Warren, Jesse Lee & Nicole Adkins of Allen Park, MI, 1 sister: Bonnie McCartney of Newton Falls, 1 brother: Brian Adkins of Newton Falls, 1 nephew: Matthew Adkins of Newton Falls, and 4 grandchildren: Zack, Dakota, Lily, and Dylan.

Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday May 22, 2024 at 12:00pm with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating.  Calling hours will be from 10:00am - 12:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Hawley Cemetery in Paris Twp, OH.
