Obituary

BRACEVILLE: Jesse Burton Siglin, age 84, of Braceville passed away into eternal rest on Friday, July 3, 2015 at his home. Jesse was born on August 24, 1930 in East Side Borough, White Haven, PA, the son of the late Elmer Edward & Nettie Viola (Hayes) Siglin. He has lived in the Braceville area since 1949. Jesse married the love of his life, the former Florence Ada Fenstermaker on April 12, 1958. Jesse and Florence were blessed with 57 years of marriage. Jesse was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korean during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Jesse retired from Henn Enterprises in Lordstown. Jesse attended college at Hiram College and Kent State University, He was a member of the Braceville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #236 in Newton Falls, Past Commander of the American Legion Post #709 in Braceville; member of the Newton Falls Masonic Lodge #462; the Consistory Valley of Youngstown; Greater Western Reserve Boy Scout Council of America in Warren; National Brotherhood of Scout Campers; The Ohio Historical Society; The Lordstown Historical Society; a Vigil member of Wapashuwi Lodge and a Vigil member of Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow. Jesse enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodcutting and traveling. Memories of Jesse will be carried on by his loving family; his wife, Florence A. Siglin of Braceville; his daughter, Ada (George) Nelson of Niles; his son Eric Siglin of Round Rock, TX and his grandchildren, Beverly Nelson & Curtis Nelson. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Franklin, Herbert and Daniel Siglin and his sister, Helen Siglin. Masonic services will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 5:00 pm at James Funeral Home, calling hours from 5:30 - 7:00 pm and the memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00 pm. Jesse will be laid to rest at a later date in Laurel Cemetery in White Haven, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Braceville United Methodist Church, 589 Park Rd.SW, Newton Falls, OH 44444.
