Obituary

Dr. Rev. Jim Alfaro Hunter-Thompson Jr., age 81 of Braceville passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Warren, OH. Jim was born on April 11, 1935 in Union Springs, AL the son of the late Jim & Fannie Mae (Hunter) Thompson Sr. Jim had lived in Braceville for 52 years. He worked as a machine repairman for 30 years at General Motors. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army where he was a Combat Engr. serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Newton Falls American Legion, and had a PHD in Theology. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and working outside. Memories of Jim will be carried on by his loving family: his daughters; Rosemaria Thompson of Ft. Pierce, FL, Joyce Ann Johnson of Ft. Pierce, FL; his sons; Will Otis Williams of Atlanta, GA, Jimmie Winglield of Ft. Pierce, FL; his brothers; Major Thompson of Atlanta, GA, James Thompson (Elizabeth), Rev. Mack Thompson (Charlene), Paul Thompson (Darla); his sisters Mary Taylor of Atlanta, GA, Fannie & Roosevelt Wade, Lucinda Thompson, Lucille Thompson-Murray(Gehrig), Mattie & Joe Freemon, "Mary Ane Linda (Dr. Sam Smith)" (whom Jim helped raise) all of Warren, great-grandson, Maurice Plains (whom Jim had raised since he was 6 months old), 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and his special friend Kathaleen Herbert. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jacques Thompson, and brothers, Wash, West, Willie, and Joe. The family will receive friends at Lucille Murray's house 332 Perkinswood Blvd. NE Warren, Ohio 44483. Calling hours will be held at James Funeral Home on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 9:00 to 10:00AM. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 10:00AM. Jim will be laid to rest at Braceville Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to James Funeral Home, 8 East Broad Street, Newton Falls, OH (330) 872-5440.
