Jim O. Sallaz, age 71 of Leavittsburg, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday October 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 11, 1945 in Warren, OH the son of the late James C. Sallaz & Shirley A. (Cross) Sallaz. Jim was employed as a Millwright for 35 years at Copperweld Steel until he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Cortland Masonic Lodge #529 for many years. He enjoyed dragracing, hot rods, antique farm tractors and spending time with family and friends. Jim is survived by his daughter: Tami (Keith) Siefert of Liberty Twp, his son, Kelly (Corrine) Sallaz of Kalamazoo, MI, brother, Jeff (Christy) Sallaz of Sherman, TX and grandchildren, Rachel & Robbie Siefert, and a host of lifetime friends will miss him dearly. Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Hutchinson and brother, Jay Sallaz. Per Jim's wishes there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Cremation has taken place. His family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Joseph's Cancer Care Center, Hospice of the Valley and Hospice House in Poland for the wonderful care that they gave to Jim.
