Obituary

Joanne Katherine Dydell, 87, left her earthly home to be with Jesus on Friday May 9, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Joanne was born in Warren, Ohio in 1938, the daughter of Charles Obrock and Mary (Kezele) Obrock. She graduated from Champion High School in 1956 and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Dydell in 1957.  They spent 67 wonderful years together until he passed in December 2024. Upon her husband's military retirement, they built their forever home in Newton Falls. They loved to travel & together they traveled extensively throughout the US & Europe.  They also enjoyed cruises and were snowbirds for many years wintering in Florida. Joanne was an active member of the First Christian Church in Newton Falls, volunteered for the Red Cross blood drives & Trumbull County Mobile Meals. She was a member of Hobby Hunters & had a fun group of friends which were lovingly referred to as the "Looney Tunes".  Joanne was a very generous, upbeat person, always up for a good time. She loved life and if you were with her, you were sure to have lots of laughs and fun!  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, word search, playing cards & Bunco. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain family and friends. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she would decorate their home and Christmas tree beautifully.

Joanne is survived by 2 sons, Ronald (Kathy) Dydell of Newton Falls; Blaine Dydell (Joanne Gannon) of Lordstown; her granddaughter, Kellie (Randy) Burke & her great grandson, Jacob Burke; 2 sisters, Cookie (Sam) Wilmoth & Robin (Bill) Bartosch & her brother, Richard Charles (Heather) Obrock; a goddaughter, Lois (Randy) Nelson.  Also, her many nieces and nephews and beloved cousins.
