John J. Chillog Sr., 95, of Braceville passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday May 29, 2014 at 1:20 pm at Signature Health Care in Warren with his family by his side. He was born on June 16, 1918, in Lorain, OH the son of the late Joseph & Marcella (Nagy) Chillog. John married the love of his life, Lois Victoria Lauthers on March 10, 1945 and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together before she passed away on June 20, 1995. John had lived in Braceville with his son, John for a few years, formerly of Lake Milton for 51 years. He was a farmer and also worked for Copperweld Steel in Warren for 35 years before retiring in July of 1980. John enjoyed farming, gardening, and baseball (especially the Cleveland Indians). Memories of John will be carried on by his loving family; his sons, John E. (Wanda) Chillog of Braceville, Michael E. Chillog of Youngstown, Terry A. (Mary) Chillog of Warren; his daughters, Carolyn (Phillip) Gorman of Youngstown, Susan Henderson of Columbus; Mary (Phillip) Leyman of Youngstown, Rose (Tim) Hamilton of Houston, TX, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lois. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls where the funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm. John will be laid to rest next to his wife Lois at Eckis Cemetery in Lake Milton.
