John Raymond O'Neal, age 80, of Braceville, passed away peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, April 1, 2017 of complications due to Type B Non hodgkin's lymphoma. On October 2, 1936, in Saxton,PA, Gustie & Lois Adeline (Young) O'Neal were blessed with the birth of their son, John. John married the love of his life, Mary Catherine Foore on January 13, 1955 and they were blessed with 62 wonderful years of marriage together. John had lived in Braceville for 50 years working as a foreman for WCI in Warren for 46 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton Falls. John was a hard worker and enjoyed cutting wood and anything else outdoors. He loved hunting all kinds of animals including deer, bear, turkey, and rabbit. He always tried to find humor in everything. Even in his last days he was asked when you get to heaven and become a Angel will you come and visit as a Butterfly or red bird? His reply " Probably as a Bullfrog". Memories of John will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Mary of Braceville; his 6 daughters Cathy (John) Krause of Lordstown, Patricia (John) Popielec of Warren, Dr. Rhonda (Rick) Steigerwald of Blacklick, Connie (Joe) Capan of Pickerington, Mary (Dan) Lambert of Newton Falls, Bobbi (Tim) Nodge of Braceville; his son John (Patty) O'Neal of Newton Falls; his sisters Vivian (Mick) Reed of Bedford, PA, Nora (Kenny) Patterson of Dudley, PA, Catherine (Steve) Stoudnour of Saxton, PA; his brothers Mike (Mary) O'Neal of Saxton,PA, Jim (Connie) O'Neal of Boiling Springs,PA; his 20 grandchildren; & 29 Great-Grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceeded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Fluke, Miriam Brantley, his brother David O'Neal, his 2 grandchildren Meghan O'Neal & Chad Brounce and a son in law John Popielec. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 2 to 5PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Newton Falls First Baptist Church on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10:00AM. John will be laid to rest in Braceville Cemetery.
