Rev. Joseph Theodore (Teddy) Henderson, Sr., age 57 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal life after a long struggle, on Friday March 18, 2011 at 12:37PM at St. Joseph's Eastland Hospital with his family by his side. Teddy was born on March 7, 1954 in Warren, OH the son of Dennie E. Henderson Sr. and Yvonne L. (Schmidt) Henderson. He was a graduate of Newton Falls High School Class of 1972. He married Dottie J. Bockla on Dec. 8, 1972 and they have enjoyed 38 blessed years of marriage together. He has lived in Newton Falls all his life. Teddy worked as a Engineer at Lite Metal in Ravenna, OH for 15 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls for many years, where he was also an associate minister. He enjoyed music, especially playing his guitar and singing gospel music and recording many of his performances. Teddy also loved reading, corresponding with friends on Facebook and playing with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Dennie, and his daughter Jessica Erickson. Memories of Teddy will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Dottie; his Mother & Step-Father Yvonne & Dan Arehart; his daughter & her husband Julie & David Lemon; his son & his wife Joseph T. & Renee Henderson Jr. all of Newton Falls; his sister Debra Steinhour of Findlay, Brenda Patterson of Newton Falls; his sister & their husbands Robin & Clarence Wilson of Lakeland,FL, Marla & Christopher Bellar of Mantua; his brother & his wife Dennie & Tina Henderson Jr. of Newton Falls; his grandchildren Heidi & Emily Erickson, Alayna Billock, Cara Henderson, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday March 22, 2011from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the General Assembly Church of God 2021 East River Rd. Newton Falls, OH 44444 on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 11:00AM, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Teddy will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery.
