"It is with deep sorrow that we announce Josetta Marie Harris, age 78, of Streetsboro passed away into eternal rest on August 20, 2026 at Ahuja Hospital in Beachwood of natural causes.

She was born on January 6, 1948 in Bristol, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry Eddy & Lorena Bell (Bane) Lyons.

Josetta married the love of her life, Cecil Harris on March 1, 1969 and they enjoyed 39 years of marriage together before his passing on January 18, 2009.

She first made her home in Newton Falls, later relocating to Austin, Texas to be close to her grandsons, and ultimately residing in Streetsboro beginning in 2018.

Josetta graduated from Bohecker's Business School & worked as a secretary for the Ravenna Arsenal and the Newton Falls First Baptist Church.

She enjoyed singing in the choir & helping her husband, Rev. Cecil Harris, while he pastored Grand Valley Baptist Church in Orwell and Charity Baptist Church in Warren.

Josetta’s memory lives on through her devoted family—her son, Clay Harris of Streetsboro; her daughter, Cara and Robert Prather of Columbus; and her three grandsons, Kristian, Cody, and Carter Harris. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and treasured friends who held a special place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil, grandson Dillan Prather and sister Charlotte Spring.

Josetta held an unwavering faith in God so we find comfort knowing she is home with our heavenly father, and we will all be reunited in time.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00am the First Baptist Church in Newton Falls. Josetta will be laid to rest next to her husband in Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls.
