Kandace ( Kandi) Kay Byrd, age 52, of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2011 at 3:10pm with her family by her side. On June 18, 1959 in Akron, Ohio John & Betty Viola (Becker) Koval were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Kandace. Kandace grew up in North Jackson and moved to Newton Falls in 1976. She married Donald Ross Byrd on November 8, 1981 and they enjoyed 30 blessed years of marriage together. Kandace worked as a logistics coordinator for Macy's Distribution Center in North Jackson for many years. She was a member of the Newton Falls United Methodist Church, the Newton Falls Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Breast Cancer Awareness, and the Relay for Life. Kandace was a volunteer for Reach for Recovery and was a chairman of the Newton Falls Chili Cook Off. She loved fishing, horseback riding and was an avid gardener. She especially loved traveling to the beach. Memories of Kandace will be carried on by her loving family; her husband Donald Ross Byrd of Newton Falls; her son & daughter-in-law Jeremy & Melissa Bryner of Newton Falls, her son Jonathan Byrd of Warren; her daughter Angela Dutting of Warren; her sisters Patricia & Laurance Miller of Merrimack, NH, Jolie & Bill Cole of Brimfield, OH; and a brother Martin & Terri Koval of Henderson, NV and her beloved basset hound Annie. She is preceeded in death by her son Billy Joe Bryner and her first husband Joseph Bryner. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 7:00- 9:00 pm at the James Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Newton Falls United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow and Kandace will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery.
