Kathleen Ann Sassaman age 78 formerly of Uniontown passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday Aug. 12, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. She was born on April 10, 1948 in Warren, OH the daughter of the late David John Pitcovich and Mary (Ferko) Pitcovich. Kathleen had lived in Uniontown, OH for over 40 years formerly of Newton Falls where she graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1966. After high school, she went on to Kent State University to get her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). Kathleen then worked for Summa Health - Barberton General Hospital as a Head RN for over 40 years retiring in 2010. She loved gambling, watching scary movies, eating different kinds of food , and watching all Cleveland sports. Kathleen is preceded in death by only her parents.

She is survived by: 3 brothers: Ronald & Diane Pitcovich of Lordstown, Paul & Linda Pitcovich of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary & Marie Pitcovich of Clarksville, TN, and many nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at St. Michael's Cemetery in Newton Falls. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692 in her memory.
