Keith Leonard Blake, 74 of Milton Twp., beloved father, devoted husband and loving grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a courageous battle with diabetes. Keith was born on June 22, 1940 in Flint, MI the son of the late Orvil Blake & Lona Belle (Foster) Blake. Keith married the love of his life, Rita J. Schultz on February 23, 1963 and they were blessed with 51 years of marriage. Keith graduated from Bendle High School in Burton, MI where he was the captain of the football team. Keith worked as a foreman in skilled trades for General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1995. He has lived in Milton Twp since 1990, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA and Flint, MI. Keith was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the American Legion Post #737. Keith loved fishing, golfing and traveling. Memories of Keith will be carried on by his loving family; his wife, Rita J. Blake of Milton Twp.; daughters: Theresa & Mike Wilson of Chicago, IL, Renie' & Brian Bright of Grant, AL; sons: Joe & Amy Blake of LeHigh Acres, FL; Danil Blake of Lake Milton,Thomas Blake of Lake Milton, Robert Blake of Pittsburgh, PA, James Blake of Lake Milton; sisters: Fay & Ed Langley of Winter Haven, FL, Norma Harris of Escanaba, MI; his twin brother, Ken & Linda Blake of Mansfield, OH, three grandchildren, Natalie, John Michael, Jessica and one great grandchild, Xachary. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ruth Sutton and 3 brothers, Floyd, Marvin and Delbert Blake. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls where the funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow. Keith will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations may be made to either the Salvation Army or the American Legion Post # 737 in Lake Milton, OH.
