Larava L. James age 67 of Petersburg, OH passed away peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital in Youngstown. She was born on Oct. 31, 1956 in Athens, OH the daughter of the late Larry D. White and Donava C. (Kasler) White. Larava graduated from North Ridge High School in Johnstown, OH in the Class of 1976. She had lived in Petersburg since 2009, formerly of Newton Falls, OH. Larava married the love of her life, Daniel L. James Sr. on Sept. 8, 1984 and they have enjoyed 39 years of marriage together. She worked at Roby Lees Restaurant & Banquet Center in Newton Falls as a bartender for over 12 years. Larava loved fishing, singing karaoke, crafting flowers arrangements, dancing, doing genealogy & Ancestry, collecting family photos, traveling, and most of all she enjoyed being a loving mother to her children, and loved spending time with all her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister: Lynn White.

She is survived by: her husband: Daniel L. James Sr. of Petersburg, OH, 2 daughters: Brandy & Bill Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls, Melanie & Michael Bordonaro of Petersburg, 1 son: Daniel & Amanda James Jr. of East Palestine, OH, 1 sister: Tracy Irons of Newton Falls, 2 brothers: Brent & Beth White of Hillard, OH, Todd White of Mt. Vernon, OH, 2 son- in- laws from previous marriages: Robert Garrett Sr. of Petersburg, OH and Jason Sawman of Boardman, OH, 13 grandchildren who were the light of her life, and many nieces & nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Saturday Feb. 10, 2024 at 3:00pm with Pastor William McCartney officiating. The family will receive friends for calling hours from 12:00- 3:00pm. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Athens, OH. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Cleveland Clinic Heart Foundation 6801 Brecksville Rd. RK1-85 Independence, OH 44131-5032 in her name.
