Larry W. Jones age 74 of Newton Falls, OH passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday June 9, 2024 at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1949 in MacArthur, WV the son of the late Harold Thomas Jones and Wanda Lee (McClure) Jones.

Larry graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in the class of 1967.  After high school, he joined the US Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971.  He married the love of his life, Debra J. Brant on Aug. 28, 1971, and they have enjoyed the past 52 years of marriage together. Larry and his wife have lived in Newton Falls since 1986, formerly of Lake Milton, OH.

He worked as an inspector at General Motors Lordstown for 35 ½ years retiring in 2002 and was a member of UAW Local #1112.  Larry was strong in his Christian faith and was a member of Edinburg First Church of God where he served as a faithful servant. He loved hunting, fishing riding his motorcycle and boating out on the lake. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister: Carolyn Diane Jones and a grandchild.

He is survived by: his wife: Debra J. Jones of Newton Falls, OH, 1 daughter: Angela & Jim Wainwright of Newton Falls, OH, 1 son: Jason & Brenda Jones of Lake Milton, OH, 2 sisters: Judith & Dr. Mark Ayers of Hurricane, WV, Linda Jones of Beckley, WV, 4 Grandchildren: Katelyn Wainwright of Virginia Beach, VA, Nathaniel Wainwright of Tucson, AZ, Amber Jones of Lake Milton, OH and Luke Jones of Lake Milton, OH.

Funeral Services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Saturday, June 15, 2024  at 12:00pm with Rev, Brad Edder officiating. Calling hours will be from 10:00am-12:00pm.
