Lawrence Joseph Sembach, Jr., age 66, of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born on May 23, 1950, in Pottsville, PA, the son of Lawrence J. & Clara J. (Oliphant) Sembach Sr. Larry married the love of his life, Carolyn M. Darak on May 25, 1979 and they enjoyed 33 years of marriage together before she passed away on February 22, 2013. Larry had lived most his life in Newton Falls working as a telecommunications Engineer for Alltel-Windstream for over 40 years before retiring in 2014. He was a member of the US Air Force, Amvets in Newton Falls, and was on the Executive Board for the Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency for 25 years. Larry also was a member of the Newton Falls Safety Force since 1975 and served as Captain from 1987 until he retired in 2009. He enjoyed rock collecting, cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, shooting and spending time with his grandkids. Memories of Lawrence will be carried on by his loving family; his mother, Clara J. Sembach of Newton Falls, his sons, Matt & Janet Bate of Braceville, Steve Bate of Newton Falls; his sister, Karen & Steve Oyster of Alliance, his grandchildren, Dalton & Dillon Bate of Braceville and his nieces and nephews. Larry is preceded in death by his father, his wife Carolyn and one brother Dave Sembach. Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery with full military honors.
