Obituary

Leah Faye Lockhart, age 88 of Southington entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 18, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Leah was born on September 17, 1928 in Steubenville the daughter of the late Walter & Oma (Wright) Dalrymple Sr. Leah married Ray Lockhart on January 8, 1951 in Braceville. Leah and Ray were blessed with 63 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on May 25, 2014. She was a graduate of Braceville High School and Kent State University where she earned her degree in Education. Leah was a first grade teacher at Southington Elementary School for 23 years retiring in 1987. Leah was a member of the Braceville Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, making quilts, reading, clog dancing and traveling to Blue Grass festivals with her husband. At one time she enjoyed working with leather and made many items for family members. Loving memories of Leah will be carried on by her son & daughter-in-law, Ray "Bud" (Janet) Lockhart of Southington, granddaughter Tracy (Shanon) Fox, grandson Baron Lockhart, great grandchildren, Ciera Wilson and her companion John Hartzel, Emma, Daisy, Juliette and Layla Lockhart, great great grandchildren, Jay Jay & Jasmine and her best friends Wendy Tietz and Helen Garrison. Leah was preceded in death by her husband, sister Bessie Cottle and brothers Herbert & Walter Dalrymple. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 7:00 pm. Rev. Jon Pratt will officiate. Leah will be laid to rest next to her husband Ray at Reformed Cemetery in Southington.
