With her family by her side, LeVeda D. Sanders age 98 passed away to her heavenly home on Sunday Jan 7, 2024 (missing her 99th birthday by one day) at the Country Club Rehabilitation Care Center in Newton Falls. She was born on Jan. 8, 1925 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of the late Everett James Sanders and Dorothy (Tackett) Sanders. After moving to West Farmington, she became co-owner of the Snack-Shack Restaurant. She was the best pie maker in town, especially known for two of her famous "lemon and apple pies". LeVeda retired from Johnson Rubber Company in Middlefield in 1988 after 32 years of service. She had also worked at the Five & Dime Store in Newton Falls and a local restaurant in her younger years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge of West Farmington/ Cortland for 60 years. She took pride in making sure her home and yard was greatly landscaped and decorated for each holiday. LeVeda always had a crossword puzzle book handy. She loved to travel and see the country, but mostly she was happy traveling to Tionesta, PA to spend time with family and friends at the family camp or gathering around the campfire at her sister's home in Braceville. She will be greatly missed by all her nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, LeVeda was preceded in death by her 3 sisters: Trudy MacNaughton, Margie Southworth, Sally Gillium, and 1 brother: James Sanders.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held at Newton Falls Cemetery at a later date and time.
