Linda Rose Buchanan, age 72 of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic. Linda was born in Grove City, PA on September 24, 1938, the daughter of Mabon & Hazel (Reiser) Smith. She has lived in Newton Falls since 1977, formerly of Garrettsville. On June 18, 1960, Linda and Edwin Charles Buchanan were united in marriage. They have been blessed to be married for 51 years. Linda was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Church in Newton Falls. Linda was the founder and director of the Mohawk Musical Corp. since 1961. She was a foster parent of 38 children throughout the years. Loving memories of Linda will be carried on by her husband, Edwin C. Buchanan of Newton Falls, daughters, Melissa & Tom Shaulis of Newton Falls, Julie M. Buchanan of Youngstown, sons, Stephen M. & Heather Buchanan of Mason, OH, Matthew S. & Sara Buchanan of Clayton, NC, Ryan E. Buchanan of Newton Falls, 6 grandchildren and trusted friend, Jewel M. Drass. Linda was preceeded in death by her sister, Eunice Thompson and her brother, George E. Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am.
