Obituary

Lois Ann Collins, age 78, formerly of Leavittsburg passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 6, 2013, at her son's house in Leavittsburg. Lois was born on April 5, 1935 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of the late Louis Ressler and Edna (Maleau) Ressler. Lois received her formal education from Austintown Fitch High School and graduated in 1953, She then married the love of her life, William F. (Bill) Collins Sr. on Nov. 29, 1969 and they have enjoyed 44 years of wonderful marriage together.William and Lois (formerly of Leavittsburg and Newton Falls) retired to Calabash, NC in 2004. Lois had a love for the beach and enjoyed many years of relaxation with family and friends at Sunset Beach. Lois worked at many places, but her last place of employment was the Trumbull Corrections Institute in Leavittsburg where she worked as a correction officer for 5 years. Lois had a successful ceramic studio for many years in the early 1970's and had lectured at the National Ceramics Convention in Orlando, FL. Some of her interests included shopping, Ceramics, working outside with her flowers in the garden, watching TV, and most of all being with her grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her step- father: Doug Owens, 1 son: Michael Drajic, 1 brother: Russ Ressler, 1 sister: Sadie Skeens. Memories of Lois will be carried on by her loving family: Her devoted husband: William F. (Bill) Collins Sr. of Calabash, NC, 2 sons, William & Lisa Collins Jr. of Leavittsburg, Stephen & Mechelle Drajic of New Middletown, OH, 3 daughters: Monica Partridge of Calabash, NC, Jennifer & Ron Peterson of Longs, SC, Lorraine Collins of Calabash, NC, 2 sisters: Marjie Miller of Lordstown, Kathleen & Dick Dubber of Walhala, SC, 3 brothers: William & Karen Ressler of Maineville, OH, Tom Ressler of Cleveland, Lou & Barbara Ressler of Cleveland, and 9 grandchildren. Per the wishes of Lois, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at the First Community Church in Leavittsburg on Wednesday December 11, 2013, at 1:00 pm with Pastor John Jaros officiating. The family will receive friends for calling hours two hours prior to service time from 11:00am - 1:00pm. The family has requested that all donations please go to the American Heart Association c/o the Jeremy A. Collins Memorial Foundation and they accept donations online through paypal.
