Obituary

Lottie Bailey age 85 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday morning Aug. 31, 2026 at the Kingsburg Senior Living Center in Lancaster Fairfield Co, OH. She was born on March 27, 1941 in Vansant, Buchanan Co, VA. The daughter of the late Alden E. and Bessie W. (Boyd) Cook. Lottie married the love of her life, Shade R. Bailey on Jan. 23, 1961, in Grundy, Buchanan Co, VA. They enjoyed their last 50 years of marriage until he passed away on April 26, 2011. She has lived in Newton Twp since 1961, formerly of Canton, OH. Lottie attended church as a child and into her adulthood as a faithful Christian, reading her Bible every morning. She loved the Lord with her whole heart. One of her greatest joys was serving God and blessing others with her thoughtful hand written notes and cards.

Lottie loved being a devoted wife, mother, Grandmother and Gigi. She loved cooking, gardening, canning and working outside with her husband on the farm.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, 1 daughter: Ronda Lynn Bailey, 3 sisters: Lucy Cook, Vernie Cook, Hattie Bailey. 8 brothers: Alonzo, Monroe, Paul, James, Lawrence, Twins: Odell & Ranel, and Bobby Lee.

Warm and loving memories of Lottie will be carried on by her 4 daughters: Karen & Joseph Leopardi of Amanda, OH, Mary & Clint Thompson of Alexandria, OH, Shalene & Joseph Mennett of Wickliffe, OH, Darlene Bailey of Grove City, OH,, 4 wonderful grandchildren: RaeLynn, Joshua Leopardi, Noah Thompson, Nathan Mennett, 6 great grandchildren: Taylen, Lily, Charlotte (Lottie), Maverick, Raegan , and Cade.

Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday Sept 4, 2026 at 1:00pm with Rev. Glenn Rader officiating. Calling hours will be from 12:00- 1:00pm. Lottie will be laid to rest beside her husband Shade at Newton Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations please be made to the Hattie Larlham Foundation (services for adults & children with developmental disabilities) 9772 Diagonal Rd. Mantua, OH 44255 in her memory.
