Obituary

Margaret Hacker, age 78, of Newton Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

She was born on October 25, 1947, in Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of Carl Snyder and Mary Alice (Butler) Snyder.

She is survived by her daughter: Stephanie (Brian) Weigel, her granddaughter Olivia Weigel all of Olmsted Falls; her siblings: Susie Lane of Warren, Patricia Evans of Braceville, Deborah (William) Giron of Niles, Elizabeth (Gary) Horton of Peoria, AZ, Patrick (Barbara) Snyder of Austintown, and Bill Snyder of California.

Some people leave a mark on this world through the things they accomplish, and others leave it through the love they give. My mom did both in the most important way possible; she made the people she loved feel like they were the center of her world. That is the kind of love she gave so effortlessly. She showed up. She cared deeply. She celebrated the people she loved and found happiness in their happiness. Her greatest joy wasn't found in things but in the people who made her life meaningful.

She made it a point to text her daughter and granddaughter every morning without fail, making sure they always knew they were loved and on her mind. There was nothing she cherished more than being there for her granddaughter, cheering her on from the sidelines, celebrating every milestone, and watching her grow up. Her granddaughter was a constant source of joy in her life, and she was endlessly proud of the person she was becoming. She wanted to be there for it all, to watch her grow, celebrate her successes, and remind her every step of the way just how much she was loved. Being a mother and grandmother were among the greatest joys of her life. The love she gave her daughter, granddaughter, and family was endless, and they will carry this love with them always.

Her life will continue to be reflected in the memories we hold, the stories we tell, the traditions we carry forward, and the love we give to one another.

She may no longer be sitting on the sidelines cheering us on, but her love will be with us at every game, every milestone, and every turn in the road. And in all the moments she would have been there to celebrate, we will carry her with us. Always.

Margaret was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Ronald Hacker; her daughter, Shelly Hacker; and her brothers, Phillip Snyder and Kenneth Snyder.

Per Margarets wishes cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to be planned at a later date.

Arrangnments have been entrusted to James Funeral Home 8 East Broad Street Newton Falls, Ohio 44444.
