Margarete L. Wilson, age 77 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital with her family by her side. Margarete was born on July 7, 1938 in Vienna, Austria the daughter of the late Josef & Maria (Krendl) Gsur. She was raised in Austria, coming to the United States in 1960. Margarete married Gerald Donald Wilson on November 8, 1958. Margarete and Gerald were blessed with 54 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on November 28, 2012. After settling in the United States with her husband and children, she utilized her training as a beautician in Newton Falls for many years. Upon receiving her GED, Margarete earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Kent State University in 1980. Margarete continued her education and obtained a Master's Degree in Education. She worked as a Social Worker for Trumbull County Children Services retiring after 20 years. After retiring, she volunteered at the Newton Falls Middle School for 10 years teaching students how to research and write news articles for a monthly classroom newsletter. She loved watching the Cleveland Cavaliers and cheering on her favorite player, Mo Williams. Margarete enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. But her greatest love was just spending time with them. Loving memories of Margarete will be carried on by her daughters, Sue (Pat) Layshock of Newton Falls, Maria (Alvin) Fish of Newton Falls, her son, John (Jenny) Wilson of Dundee, MI, her grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Capasso, Jennifer Layshock, Michael (fiance` Amanda Becker) Layshock, Nicole (Josh) Bahny, Angela Wilson, Katie Pereces, Chris (Clarissa) Pereces, Brian (Nikki) Fish, great grandchildren, Isabella & Scarlett Capasso, Noah Pereces, Ellie and Brendan Fish. Margarete also leaves behind her beloved cat, Mitzi. Margarete is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald and her grandson, Andrew Layshock. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6:00 pm. Cremation will follow and Margarete will be laid to rest next to her husband at Newton Falls Cemetery.
