Marie M. (Koch) Ballas, age 84 of Newton Falls, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. Marie was born April 1, 1929 in Woodburn, IN, the daughter of Henry & Ida (Messman) Koch. She has lived in Newton Falls since 1970, formerly of Indiana. Marie married John Ballas Jr. on May 24, 1986. They had a wonderful blessed marriage until his passing on June 4, 1987. Marie was an inspector in the final assembly department at General Motors from 1973-1993. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Newton Falls since 1970 where she was very active in church activities. Marie enjoyed cooking, baking and solving crossword puzzles. Loving memories of Marie will be carried on by her daughter, Lori (James) Becker of Lake Milton, her sons, DeWayne (Deborah) Wells of Cortland, Tim (Mary) Wells of West Lafette, IN, Jon (Joan) Wells of Southington, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Marie was preceeded in death by her husband, John, her parents, a sister and three brothers. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Messiah Luthern Church where family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service. Marie will be laid to rest next to her husband John at Newton Falls Cemetery.
