Marie Mae Whitacre, age 81, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at St. Joseph's Eastland in Warren. Marie was born on October 7, 1936 in New Ringgold, PA the daughter of the late David & Evelyn (Burkey) Reinhart.

Marie married the love of her life Charles W. Whitacre on Jan 10, 1956. Marie & Charles enjoyed 41 years of marriage until his passing on June 6, 1997. Marie has lived in Newton Falls over 45 years, and was employed at General Motors Lordstown as a welder for 18 years. She was a union representative for Local UAW #1112 in which she participated in many marches, one in Washington, DC. Marie was on the committee and worked hard to restore the Newton Falls Dam. Marie enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, working around her house and spending time with her neighbors and friends.. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her daughter Kelly Whitacre, sister Sandra Little and brothers; David, Thomas & Paul Reinhart.

Marie is survived by her son Charles P. Whitacre of Las Vegas, NV, sisters: Betty Alford of Newton Falls, Marlene Greeley of Leetonia, Virginia (Jack) Vonschwartz of Mineral Ridge, Carol (Robert) Morris of Newton Falls, brother: Wayne (Shirley) Reinhart of Braceville, granddaughter: Ryan Leann Dalton of Ravenna and her great grandchildren, Jessica, Collin and Riley.

The funeral services for Marie will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Marie will be laid to rest beside her husband Charles and her daughter Kelly at Newton Falls Cemetery.
