Marilyn M. Benson, age 76 of Southington entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at White Oak Manor in Warren. Marilyn was born on December 4, 1936 in Newton Falls, the daughter of Frank & Dorothy (Cutlip) James. She has lived in Southington her entire life. Marilyn married Bernard "Bernie" Benson on June 25, 1955. They have been blessed with 58 years of marriage. Marilyn bowled on many leagues throughout the years. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Marilyn's family would like to thank the wonderful caretakers at White Oak Manor for their special care and devotion. Loving memories of Marilyn will be carried on by her husband, Bernard Benson of Southington, her daughters, Lois (Fred) Davis of Southington, Sue Revis of Warren, her son, Douglas (Carolyn) Benson of Champion, her sister, Wilma "Billie" (Ed) Nesselroad of Newport Beach, CA, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Marilyn was preceeded in death by a granddaughter, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Meadowbrook Memorial Park.
