Marion Ruth Sipka, age 88, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. She was born on Oct.10, 1923 in Sharon, PA the daughter of the late William Robert Bouslough and Marion Elizabeth (Cartwright) Bouslough. Marion graduated 1942 from Hickory High School in Hermitage, PA. She entered the Buhl Hospital School of Nursing in Sharon, PA . She then attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and finished her Bachelor's Degree in Education at Kent State University when she moved to Ohio in 1943. Marion married Milan Sipka (the love of her life) on Feb. 13, 1943 and they enjoyed 54 years together before he passed away on Feb. 14, 1997. She taught at Newton Falls Public Schools for 26 years and retired in 1988. She also worked at Neidhart department store in Newton Falls. She was a member of the Trumbull County Retired Teachers Association, Friends of the Newton Falls Public Library, was a life member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and the Kappa Delta Pi. After retirement she also did volunteer work at the Head Start Program and at the Newton Falls Public Library for many years. Some of Marion's passions were traveling, walking, and crafts. Memories of Ruth will be carried on by her two sons: Milan Daniel Sipka and his wife Fran of Columbus, OH, Philip Gene Sipka and his wife Pam Totta of Reston, VA,, her best friend and caregiver Janet Cross of Newton Falls, and three grandchildren, Todd, Tracy and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milan, and her brother Dr. William E. Bouslough. The family has requested that all donations be made to either the Harvest Point Church of God Building Fund 6100 Tod Ave. Warren,OH 44481or to Feed My Sheep Group at North Mar Church 3855 East Market St. Warren, OH 44484 or American Cancer Society East Central Division Northeast Region 525 North Broad St. Canfield, OH 44406 in memory of Ruth Sipka. The family will receive friends for calling hours at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday May 1, 2012 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will also be at the funeral home on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 11:00am with Pastor Shannon Newspangler officiating the service.
