Marion Deane Yaratch, age 74 years of Deerfield passed away on July 17, 2015 at her beloved log home with her family members by her side. Marion was born on October 15, 1940 in Eau Claire, PA to the late Paul and Beryl (Montgomery) Hovis. She was raised in Lake Milton. She enjoyed many summers in PA with her grandparents, the late John and Lottie Montgomery. Marion married Franklin M. Yaratch on October 15, 1960. Marion and Franklin were blessed with 54 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Marion worked many years at Portage County Family Services as a foster parent. She opened her home and heart to many children in need over the years. She was involved with Portage County 4-H for many years as Goat Advisor and became involved with horses. She enjoyed camping at Randolph Fair for many years. Marion loved the outdoors, she enjoyed camping, riding horses, hiking, boating, bike riding and fishing. She loved the ocean and over the years, she was an avid traveler and reader. She was an avid Indians Baseball fan, never missing a game. Marion was a member of Lake Milton Presbyterian Church, Portage Trail Walkers and Golden Girls, former Red Hat ladies group. Each year Marion enjoyed hosting a huge family and friends Halloween party. She loved Christmas lights and each year her home was lit up. Marion had many talents, she helped build two homes from driving a bull dozer to clearing the land to laying block for a foundation. She volunteered at Gleaners Food Bank in Youngstown and for many years volunteered at Happy Day. Marion also took the time and love to care for her mother for many years. Her sense of humor and loving, generous heart will be truly missed by her husband, Franklin Yaratch of Deerfield, her ten children: Renee (Dan) Krbec of Matthews, NC, Deanne (Rick Ruffing) Lavinga of Edinburg, Kim (Scot) Nelson of Charlestown, Jeff (Lisa) Yaratch of Paris Twp., Eric Yaratch of Deerfield, Jennifer (Rich) Mauk of Akron, Kara Sepelak of Cleveland, Timothy Yaratch of Akron, James (Jamie) Yaratch of Lake Milton, Dave Yaratch of Sebring, 19 grandchildren, sisters: Laree (Robert) Munger of Edinburg, Peggy Ries of Lake Milton, and her brother: Tim (Solo) Hovis of Palmyra. Marion was preceeded in death by her sister, Charlotte Kale and brothers, Larry and Robert Hovis. Per Marion's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at her home, 9554 Yale Rd., Deerfield, OH 44411. The family would like to thank the kind, caring ladies: Shelly, Sharon and Rachael from Robinson Memorial Visiting Nurse and Hospice for the care they gave our mother. And, thank you to Akron City Hospital ICU unit, Palliative Care unit and Jean & Milton Cooper Cancer Center for wonderful care given to our mother.
