Marlene Ann Currence, age 77, of Braceville passed away peacefully on Sunday July 12, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Marlene was born on January 10, 1938 in South Huntingdon, Twp., PA the daughter of the late Leon Charles Dobritz & Margaret Cecelia (Patrick) Dobritz. Marlene has lived in Braceville since 1990, formerly of Jacobs Creek, PA. Marlene married James Dale Currence on January 22, 1989. Marlene and James have been blessed with 26 wonderful years of marriage. She retired in 2003 after 15 years in Dietary with Hattie Larlham Center of Children with Disabilities in Manuta. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Scottsdale, PA. Marlene enjoyed mowing her lawn, gardening, bird watching, whistling, singing and crafts. Loving memories of Marlene will be carried on by her husband, James D. Currence of Braceville, daughter, Cheryl (Randy) Lemley of Jacobs Creek, PA, sons, Ronald Lemley of Scottsdale, PA, Terry (Diane) Lemley of West Newton, PA, brother, Don Hodge of Watsontown, PA, stepsister, Ruth Patton of Mendon, PA, 4 grandchildren, Tara Reiner and (Matthew) and Scott Lemley and (Melinda) and 8 great grandchildren. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Rebecca, a sister, Dorothy Delaini and two brothers, James and Thomas Dobritz. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at James Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm. Pastor Joe Congemi will officiate.
