Obituary

Mary Jane Lay, also known as Grandma Honey, age 87, passed into eternal life on June 2, 2012 at St. Joseph's Eastland of natural causes surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 13, 1925 in Pricetown, OH the daughter of the late, Clyde B. & Helen (Besse) Williams. Mary married the love of her life, Harry Morgan Lay, on November 7, 1943 and they enjoyed 36 blessed years of marriage together before he passed away on December 27, 1979. Mary was an Inspector for Polson Rubber and then Newburry Rubber for 25 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of the Pricetown United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Christian Womens Group. She was also a member of the Pricetown Card Club, and the Lake Milton American Legion #737 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary loved to play solitaire & hearts on the computer. She also loved playing the piano for Sunday School and cheering for the Indians, Browns & Cavs. Memories of Mary will be carried on by her loving family; her daughters & their husbands Jane & Gary Fife of Pricetown, Ginger & David Koupal of Newton Falls; her son & his wife Clyde & Dorothy Lay of Pricetown; her sisters Ruth Shambach of Pricetown, Dorothy Carson of Vienna; her 5 granddaughters & their husbands Jody & Thomas Brooks, Lori & Brad Metts, Brandi & Bobby Cappadony, Darcy & James Roessler, Allyson & Dustin Montgomery; her 4 grandsons & their wives Larry & Paulette Lay, Lance & Jennifer Lay, Steve & Marla Fife, & Nick Koupal; and her 15 great-grandchildren. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Joyce Davis, and her sister Betty Martin. Calling hours will be at the Pricetown United Methodist Church on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. The funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00PM. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter in Newton Falls Cemetery. The family asks that all donations be made in the form of contributions to Pricetown Church 4640 Pritchard-Ohltown Road SW Newton Falls, Ohio 44444.
