Mary Dorothy Reed, age 81 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her home. She was born on October 1, 1934 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of the late Adam & Margaret (Kish) Yaratch. She has lived in Newton Falls for the past 25 years, formerly of Braceville, New Smyrna, FL and Cleveland. Mary married Lemuel Turner Reed Jr. on July 29, 1950. Mary and Lemuel recently celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage. Mary worked at Singer Sewing Machine in Warren in her earlier years and took great pride in being a housewife and mother. She was a member of the First Church of God in Newton Falls and New Smyrna, FL. Mary enjoyed playing cards with her sisters, shopping on QVC, sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking and making wedding cakes. Loving memories of Mary will be carried on by her husband, Lemuel T. Reed Jr. of Newton Falls, daughters; Nancy (David) Sharps of Southington, Sandra Grimm-Reed of Southington, sons; Lemuel (Donna) Reed III of Cocoa, FL, Thomas Reed of Newton Falls, Brian Reed of Oak Hill, FL, sisters, Betty, Margie, Eva, Rosie, Dolores, brothers; Franklin, David, Eddy, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Gary Reed, 1 sister: Francis Basile and 1 brother, Arthur Yaratch. Per Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls with visitiation two hours prior from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
