Mary Ann Rzepka, age 83 of Newton Falls passed peacefully into eternal rest on May 25,2010 at Laurie Ann Nursing Home, Newton Falls. Mary Ann was born on February 10, 1927 in Benwood, WV the daughter of Frank Szeligo and Mary (Przekop) Szeligo. On May 14, 1949, she married the love of her life, Emil M. Rzepka, who preceded her in death on August 13, 1987, after 38 years of marriage. Mary Ann had a compassionate, caring, and nurturing nature that fit perfectly in her job as a nurse's aid for Colvin's Nursing Home for 10 years. After she retired, she devoted all her time to her children. She was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Newton Falls. Mary Ann was an avid reader, enjoyed word puzzles, bingo, and watching her favorite television programs. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, John and Chester Szeligo. . Memories of Mary Ann will be carried on by her loving family; her daughters Barbara Rzepka and Lori Rzepka both of Newton Falls; her son & daughter-in-law Michael and Brenda Rzepka of Edgewood, MD; her son Stephen Rzepka; her sisters Rose Purpura of Benwood, WV, Dorothy Mathys of McMechen, WV; her brother & sister-in-law Walter & Jessie Szeligo of Akron; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30 am on Friday May 28, 2010 at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls where a prayer service will be held at 10:30 am. Following the service will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the St. Joseph & Mary Catholic Church in Newton Falls with the Rev. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Mary Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband, Emil, in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Paris Twp.
