Melvin Dale Wilson age 86 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday Jan 14, 2019 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, OH. He was born on July 5, 1932 in Warren, OH the son of the late Fred Cain Wilson and Clarabell Ann (Marshman) Wilson. Melvin married Dolly Wilson on March 15, 1992 and she survives. He and his wife have lived in Newton Falls since 1993.

Mel graduated in 1951 from New Bazetta High School. He served his country faithfully in the US Navy during the Korean War. After the service, he worked as a Personal Manager for 30 years at RMI Titanium in Niles, retiring in 1985. He is a member of the Braceville Christian Church, the Amvets Post #112 in Newton Falls and the Niles Masonic Lodge #794. Mel was an avid golfer, woodworker, and loved watching Ohio State Basketball (proud alumni). He was a scoutmaster for Troop #31 for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Rob and Rick Wilson, his sister Lois Desenburg, his brother Jack, and grandson Michael Flannery.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife Dolly Wilson of Newton Falls, sons Randy Wilson and Ronald (Flora) Wilson of Lake Wells, FL, step sons Robert (Sandra) of Newbury, Ohio and Timothy (Carol) Flannery of Niles, Ohio, sister Winnifred (Alex) Phillips of Warren and 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00PM and Funeral services at 1:00 PM on Friday Jan 18, 2019 at the Braceville Christian Church 4387 Church St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 with Rev. Jon Pratt officiating. Melvin will be laid to rest at Lordstown Cemetery.
