Obituary

Michael Adam Hulvey, 70, of West Farmington, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. Michael was born March 24, 1946 in Warren, Ohio, to Adam and Cecilia (Adam) Hulvey. He graduated from Newton Falls High School in 1964. After graduation he worked at Rockwell Foundry for two years before Michael was drafted into the United States Army where he served two years stationed in Berlin, Germany, during the Cold War. Upon his return he was employed by Republic Steel, LTV, WCI retiring in 1996 after 32 years. Michael was a life-time member of VFW Post 7200 of West Farmington and Moose Lodge 1012 of Cortland. Michael married the love of his life, Velva Mack, of Warren, Ohio, on May 25, 1968. They would soon be celebrating their 49th Wedding Anniversary. Michael was blessed with two children; John Michael Hulvey (Sharon), of Ocean Spring, MS., and Kristin Diane Woods (Joe) of Bristolville, Ohio, two Grandchildren; Ben and Katelyn (Katie) Woods; two sisters, Elaine (Larry) Derteen of Ocean Springs, MS., and Eileen (Gene) McKinstry of Painsville, OH., and many loved nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Anne (Neal) Brown. Mike enjoyed any activity with his family including, fishing, hunting, trips to Canada, traveling, riding his Harley and was an avid woodworker. He constructed the memorial benches for both Farmington and Southington which are enjoyed by many. Mike would lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Per Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service with be held at a later time.
