Obituary

Michael "Mike" Charles Uhrain III, of Bristolville died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at his home at the age of 69. Michael was born January 19, 1947 in Youngstown to the late Michael C. Uhrain Jr. and Anne Lipka. Michael graduated from Boardman High School and served in the Vietnam Conflict at the age of 19, from October 1966 - July 1968. He was a sergeant E5 Combat Engineer and was attached to both the 4th & 25th Infantry Divisions. Commendations he received: Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, RVN Gall Cross Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. Mike was presented with a Purple Heart Quilt at the Trumbull County Fair on July 4, 2011. He belonged to Trumbull County Chapter 11 Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the First Christian Church of Newton Falls where he served as a deacon. He retired from Delphi Packard Electric in 2007 after 22 years as a Tool and Die Maker. Michael enjoyed traveling, camping, grilling and spending time with his family and his grand dog "Frankie". Michael will be sadly missed by his wife, RoxAnne (Webb) Uhrain whom he married March 18, 1988, three sons, Michael (Chiharu) Uhrain IV, Shane (Gabriella) Uhrain, Cody Uhrain, his daughter, Michelle (Brian) Chaffin, two brothers, Edward (Mary) Uhrain and Frank Uhrain. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John (Angie) Uhrain. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00am at the funeral home. Rev. Calvin Mason will officiate. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH at 2:30 pm with full military honors. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's name to Trumbull County Chapter 11 Disabled American Veterans 2044 Youngstown Rd. SE Warren, OH 44484 or the Military Order of the Purple Heart in memory of Michael C. Uhrain.
