Mildred L. Martin, age 99 of Braceville entered into eternal rest on Monday June 14, 2010 at her daughter and son-in-laws home. Mildred was born in Windham on October 5, 1910, the daughter of Harry & Grace (Waller) Stanley. Mildred has lived in Braceville since 1994. She was formerly of Akron where she had set up housekeeping when she got married. Mildred married Clyde W. Martin on September 8, 1933. They were married a wonderful 57 years before his passing on April 6, 1991. Mildred retired in 1976 after 20 years with the Ohio State Bureau of Employment as an interviewer. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking and playing cards. Memories of Mildred will be carried on by her daughter & son-in-law, Elaine & Richard Mowen of Braceville, sister, Maxine Adolph of Ravenna, brothers, Fred & Hazel Stanley of Newton Falls, Earl & Alberta Stanley of Brentwood, TN, grandchildren, David & Steven Smith of Akron, Diana & David Smith of North Canton, great grandson, Dustin Smith of North Canton and great granddaughters, Ashley Smith of North Canton, & Sarah Smith of Doylestown. Mildred was preceeded in death by her daughter, Marilyn A. Smith, sister, Phyllis Garland and brothers, Carl, Claude, Roger, Harold & Robert Stanley. Friends and family may call at James Funeral Home on Thursday June 17, 2010 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm where services will then be held at 2:00 pm. Rev. Calvin Mason will be officiating. Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband in Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Tha family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512-2198.
