Nancy J. Collier, 68, of Southington passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Nancy was born on April 20, 1947 in in Warren, the daughter of the late Richard & Maxine (Hartman) Nidy. She has lived in Southington since 1972, formerly of Alliance. Nancy married Thomas Russell Collier on November 28, 1964. Thomas and Nancy were blessed with 50 years of marriage. She was an umpire for little league baseball, and held her AKC license, judging and raising dogs. She was a past member of the Southington Chalker School Board and was an avid book reader. Loving memories of Nancy will be carried on by her husband, Thomas Collier of Southington, sons, Chuck (Betsy) Collier of Dublin, OH, Tom (Rose) Collier of Warren, sisters, Donna Erisey of West Palm Beach, FL, Carol Worlow of Beloit, brothers, Russell Nidy and his partner, Lee Hall of West Palm Beach, FL, Keith (Christine) Nidy of Hartville, Richard A. Nidy of Alliance, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Nancy was preceeded in death by her parents, and her son, Dennis Collier. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at James Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm.
