Nancy M. Higgins, age 72 of Braceville, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at her residence. She was born on March 11, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Elmer Benjamin Buday and Irene Marie (Petrash) Buday.

Nancy married Theodore R. Higgins II on May 25, 2001, and they enjoyed 25 years of marriage. Nancy graduated from Maple Heights High School in 1972. She enjoyed listening to the Blues, traveling, being outdoors, playing board games(especially Monopoly), spending time with her family, & playing fantasy football.

She was an accountant for many years before retiring in 2018.

Memories of Nancy will be carried on by her loving family; her husband Theodore R. Higgins II of Braceville; daughter Shelley (Jim) Funai of Ravenna, OH; son Mark (Kara) Cerny with three grandchildren Allie, Evan, and Collin of Sagamore Hills, OH; and three brothers Michael Buday of Daytona Beach, FL, Ronald Buday of Miami, FL, James & Sherri Buday of Cumberland, KY. She was preceded in death by her brothers Patrick and Robert Buday.

Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 6:30 pm with Pastor Joan Purnell officiating. Calling hours will be from 4:30- 6:30 pm. Cremation will follow the service. She will be laid to rest at Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua, OH, during a later private ceremony.
