Obituary

Norman L. Spiker, age 68, of Leavittsburg passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. He was born on January 12, 1946 in Salem the son of the late Charles and Arlene (Corell) Spiker. He graduated from Salem High School, the class of 1965. Norman served his country faithfully in the US Air Force where he was an Aircraft Mechanic during the Vietnam War from 1965-1968. He married Deborah D. Soltesz on Oct. 12, 1991, and they have enjoyed 22 years of marriage together. He worked at General Motors in Lordstown for 32 years retiring in 2002. Norman was a member of Northwood Golf Course in Champion for many years. Norman was an avid golfer and bowler. He also was a member of the UAW Local #1714 and the Moose Lodge 185. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Robert, Jerry, & Donald Spiker. Norman is survived by: his wife, Deborah D. Spiker of Leavittsburg, his children, Daniel Spiker of Fort Leonard, MO, Tracie Spiker Herbert of North Benton, OH, a special friend, John (Jack) McClish of Salem, and 4 grandchildren. Per Norman's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls.
