Patricia "Patti" Jean (Murphy) Sample, 70, of Chippewa Falls, WI formerly of Newton Falls, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 1, 2011 while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice. She was born February 22, 1941 in Chippewa Falls,WI to Delores "Pat" Connell and John Murphy. Patti married Richard "Dick" Sample on July 7, 1962 in Newton Falls. The couple resided in Newton Falls, where Patti worked as a bartender at the VFW for many years. Following her husband's death in 2008, Patti moved to Chippewa Falls to be near her family. She was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and the Cleveland Indians. She enjoyed doing puzzles and loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed. Loving memories of Patti will be carried on by her family; her eight siblings, Kay Murphy, John "Buck" (Kathy) Murphy, Mike (Connie) Murphy, Denny (Roxy) Murphy, Jerry Murphy, Tim (Debbie) Murphy, all of Chippewa Falls; Colleen (John) Hrdlicka of Jim Falls, Kara (Brian) Heidtke of Chippewa Falls, WI, sister-in-laws Nancy Chicko, brother-in-law Lee Sample, both of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, two sons, a sister-in-law, Kathy Murphy, and her husband, Richard on October 27, 2008. Calling hours will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 12:00 to 1:30PM. Funeral services will be held after the calling hours at 1:30PM at the funeral home. Patti will be laid to rest beside her husband Richard in Newton Falls Cemetery.
